Privacy Policy for JournalStreak - Mood Tracker

Introduction

JournalStreak ("we," "our," or "the app") is a mood and habit tracking application for Android developed by PDSS Digital Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and how you can delete it.

By using JournalStreak, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Data Collection

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

JournalStreak stores the following data on your device only:

  • Mood entries (mood scores, emotions, activities, dates)
  • Journal notes and attached photos
  • Weekly reflections and gratitude items
  • Custom tags you create
  • App settings and preferences

This data is never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or any third party.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • No account or login required
  • No location data
  • No contacts, call logs, or messages

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob (Advertising)

JournalStreak displays ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect:

  • Device advertising identifier
  • Device information and IP address
  • Ad interaction data

This data is handled by Google under their Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings under Settings > Google > Ads.

We do not have access to the data Google collects through AdMob.

JournalStreak does not use any other third-party analytics, tracking, or data collection services.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party. The only third-party data processing is by Google AdMob for advertising, which does not include your mood entries, notes, photos, or any content you create.

Data Security

  • All app data is stored in a private directory on your device, inaccessible to other apps
  • Photos are saved in the app's private storage
  • The optional app lock uses SHA-256 hashed PINs (your PIN is never stored in plain text)
  • Optional fingerprint authentication uses Android's native biometric API
  • No data is sent over the internet except ad requests handled by Google AdMob

Data Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete it at any time using these methods:

Delete a single entry: Journal tab > tap an entry > tap the delete icon > confirm.

Delete all data: Settings > Reset All Data > confirm. This permanently removes all entries, notes, photos, tags, reflections, and settings.

Uninstall the app: Removing JournalStreak from your device deletes all app data.

All deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Since we never have access to your data, we cannot recover it after deletion.

Children's Privacy

JournalStreak is not directed at children under 13. No personal information is collected from any user, regardless of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
